A Delicious Afare Fine Food and Catering Strathmore

Cathy: Owner/Manager

A girlfriend and I opened A Delicious Afare in 1998. What was to be only a five year plan has now turned into ten.

I love my work because each day brings new and exciting challenges. You think you know it all - but I can honestly say I learn something new about the business each and every day.

We have a very strong and loyal clientele who respect and appreciate what we have to offer. We have a free lending library, footy tipping competition and a Melbourne Cup Sweep. This creates a friendly atmosphere in which to get to know our clients.

I have lived locally for more than thirty years. I have three grown-up children and three grandchildren. My interests include watching black and white movies, music, entertaining family and friends, holidays in the sun and reading.

I have been a Director of the Strathmore Community Bank for many years and it has given me great pleasure to see how successful our Branch has become.

Narelle: Owner/Chef

Having enjoyed cooking from an early age it was no surprise to my family and friends when I became a chef.

Meeting my business partner Cathy fifteen years ago we fast became friends and great work mates.

Ten years ago we decided to 'give it a go for ourselves' and started what is now known as 'A Delicious Afare'.

I love my work because it allows me to be creative in the kitchen. I love trying new recipies and eagerly await customer's feedback.

Having lived in Strathmore all my life it has been wonderful to get to know our loyal customers who have become firm friends.

When I am not chained to the kitchen bench I enjoy time at home relaxing with my daughter Courtney.

Leanne:

I have worked at A Delicious Afare for over nine years. I left for a short time but recently returned and am so glad to be back.

I am the mother of three boys, aged 21, 18 and 16 and have lived in the area for many years.

Being a local resident, many of our customers are people I know through school, sporting clubs and the like.

Strathmore is a very close knit community and the cafe has a very friendly feel about it. I love the customer interaction and it all makes for a great place to work.

I enjoy walking, weekends away, movies, watching sports events on TV and the local cricket and football..

I have been working here now for almost nine years. I enjoy watching the passing of time, as babies are born, start to walk and then talk and then head off to school!!

My outside interests include golf and tennis and looking after two beautiful grand daughters.

Ange:

I'm a married mother of one - a 16 year daughter who also works at A Delicious Afare. I have been here nearly four years and enjoy the sense of community the cafe has. Although very busy, we have a lot of fun and work well together.

Terri:

I have been working at 'A Delicious Afare' for almost two years after a short stint at a Carlton cafe.

Since starting here I feel I have learnt a great deal about all aspects of this job, thanks in no small part to my co-workers Cathy and Narelle.

I live locally and enjoy working in the cosy, friendly environment of Strathmore.

Away from work I am actively involved in netball - playing, coaching and watching my two daughters play. As you can imagine, my weekends are very full!

Holidays are spent anywhere with my husband and girls - as long as there is a beach nearby!
